We turn civic literacy into civic power.
Virtutem Populo is a student-led movement giving young people the knowledge, platforms, and real government access to lead today, not someday.
POPULO
A generation that understands the system can change the system.
Civic disengagement is a crisis, not a statistic. Only about half of Americans aged 18–24 voted in 2020, and fewer than a quarter of students can name all three branches of government. We exist to close that gap.
Advocacy
We give students a seat at real decision-making tables, from city chambers to school boards across Florida.
Programming
Hands-on simulations, fellowships, and competitions that make government tangible and leadership a habit.
Education
We redefine civics from a textbook subject into a way of life, taught by students, owned by students.
Programs that bring students to the table—literally.
Youth Governance Day
High schoolers become “Mayor for a Day” across 19 Miami-Dade municipalities and constitutional offices.
Strive 305 Economic Fellowship
A hands-on cohort built with the County to shape Miami-Dade’s economic future.
Civic Knowledge Bowl
A live-streamed, Jeopardy-style competition turning constitutional knowledge into school pride.
Students are not the leaders of tomorrow. They lead today.
Whether you volunteer, partner, or give, you help put a young person in the room where decisions get made.
A movement built by students, for students.
What began as one high school freshman’s idea on a Zoom call—monthly meetings, a newsletter, and a belief that young voices matter—has grown into one of Florida’s most innovative youth civic engagement organizations.
Equipping young people to shape democracy, not just study it.
Virtutem Populo, Inc. is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to cultivating civic engagement, youth leadership, and community involvement across Florida, primarily in Miami-Dade County.
We empower students to become active participants in democracy by giving them the knowledge, tools, and platforms to lead. Through hands-on programming, powerful student advocacy, and real-world government exposure, we’re redefining civic education so young people are not just prepared for the future—they are shaping it.
Backed by the leaders and institutions shaping Miami-Dade.

Civics you can stand up and do.
Every program is hands-on, student-led, and built around a single idea: the best way to learn government is to step inside it. Applications and registration open ahead of each cycle.
